i'm not a great fan of animals (with reference to my close encounters with catpoo at the most inappropriate places) but i do tolerate them and do enjoy their presence every now and then.
what gets to me is the inhumane way local authorities cull stray dogs, i.e. by shooting on sight. a better way would be to catch them and later, give them the injection.
i've signed the petition, but i am not sure what good will it do. to change the law and to impose higher fines and stricter,punitive action would require political will. can continue but best i leave it as it is, karang jadi macam orang singapura pulak.
hmmm... animal cruelty. human are just cruel ah beng. we are the animals sometimes heh heh. good luck in saving your species.

please do not insult the animals by saying that humans can be animals when it comes to animal rights.
animals act the way they do because of instincts. humans, sheer cruelty and sickness of the mind.
and once i find the cats that pooped on the kitchen floor and at my front door, they would know how evil this particular human can be. :D

wa sudah sign itu petition.. wa tatau sama ada ada guna atau buang masa tapi gua sign jugak..
signing petitions is good and all but not very conducive. u can see how desperate the SPCA are getting. to make a bloody difference, you can either adopt a cat/dog, volunteer to help at ur nearest SPCA or make sure u spay ur pets. or if u're really loaded, give money..
oh, only option (iii) above is appicable for the owner of this blog. =)

I think for this to work in this country, SPCA needs support; not so much from the people (pubic) but also the authorities, which had been very minimal thusfar.
Hence the petition - but which politician wants to take it up? Sadly, this won't leverage their political career kot. Which conglomerate/MNC nak take this up?
Kesian dia orang. There's much lah that organisations like SPCA, PAWS etc can do. Unless they have big budgets they can reaaally advertise kan? Like them tv progs yg UK based tu - Animal cruelty tv. Stark reality. Makes people think. Monkey World is another.
I think one way we can go about it if broadcasters who can be more morally and societally (betul ke englen aku ni babe?) obliged to help these orgs up instead of thinking ways to pump their revenue (think AF and MI) via sponsorship and adex, I think it'll help the campaign better.
